BHU LLM EXAM: SYLLABUS, PATTERN, CUT-OFF

Banaras Hindu University(BHU LLM) ranked among top 10 law schools in India gives you option of 2 years LL.M as well 1 year LL.M course. Aspiring for career in academics and judiciary this is one university apt for such career goals.

Preparation for Masters can easily be taken while you are in your final year LL.B., all that you need is to put some extra efforts in addition to your regular studies.

Master program from Banaras Hindu University gives you option of specializations under different streams as well 2 year course designed for human rights.

1 year- General LL.M with the option of Public law, IPR and Family Law.

BHU LLM Mode of Examination: Till 2018 the mode of examination was offline, from 2019 exam is conducted by online mode.

As per the recent qualification standard: for qualifying in the exam minimum of 35% score is necessary.

BHU LLM Number of questions 120, every question carries +3 for correct answer and negative 1 for wrong answer.

Question type– Objective

BHU LLM Cut-off: This year it was around 140, else it goes around 170- 180

BHU LLM Number of seats – Around 80 which are further divided in for 2 year and 1 year LL.M, selection is made merit cum preference wise.

Subject covered: International Law-, Indian Contract Act, Criminal Law (Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, and Indian Evidence Act), Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Family Law, Law of Tort, Environmental Law.

Bare Act reading is required for all subject having bare provisions.

Syllabus wise distribution:

 

Constitution:  Any Bare Act: P.M.Bakshi or Universal’s, then stick to one book which ever you are comfortable reading with either J.N.PandeyV.N,Shukla or Mamta Rao or whichever is suggested while law school curriculum.

Keep updated you with all the legal development especially case laws.

Jurisprudence: Material like, Decoding the Jurisprudence Book is really helpful to get all the sayings, objectives at one place, apart from it pick any one book for complete understanding. Recommended- B.N.Mani Tripathi and V.D.Mahajan

Contract Law: Major focuses Section 1-75, reading material book- R.K.Bangia

Tort LawR.K.Bangia

Criminal Law: Bare acts and guide for cases

International Law: recent current on goings and guides for LL.M. entrances

Family Law:  Bare acts for both Hindu and Muslim Law and recent developments

Environmental Law:  Bare Act provisions for all the acts

International Law: recent current on goings and guides for LL.M. entrances
